For those who might not know, I’m a genuine introvert, and tabling isn’t in my comfort zone. However, I believe many leaders will understand that passion is a powerful force that drives you out of your comfort zone. That’s been my experience with Service in Unity.
My passion for Service in Unity has pushed me out of my comfort zone and into success. At this event, someone from the local recovery community stopped by the table, having never heard of Service in Unity before. Every time I get to talk about our mission, my passion overshadows my introversion.
This journey has been tough at every turn, but the rewards have been incredible. Talking to someone who had never heard of Service in Unity, and watching her truly understand and appreciate our work in the community, was incredibly gratifying.
I’m excited for more tabling experiences, especially with our new equipment. I often underestimate the effort involved in starting something new, which is even more challenging for a small nonprofit. We had to secure funds from a generous donor (big thanks to you!), design our table cover, and sort out the marketing materials we wanted to hand out. The silver lining is that now we have the tools, making future tabling much easier.

Rowan did an amazing job designing our table cover, including updating our logo. Another unexpected item for this project was that our logo needed an update to scale to this size.
What’s missing?
When you’re racing against a deadline and venturing into new territory, it’s almost inevitable that an unexpected hurdle will appear. Our original table cover had a missing phone-number digit! The corrected one arrived just in time, the day before the event. Huge thanks to Vista Print for replacing it at no cost.
